HIGHWAY 15 TO RUN THROUGH LATIMER

PROPOSAL FROM MDOT POTENTIALLY RUNS HWY 15 FROM I-110 IN D'IBERVILLE THROUGH LATIMER TO HIGHWAY 57 NORTH OF VANCLEAVE. THE PROPOSED ROUTE RUNS RATHER CLOSE TO FAMILIAR TERRITORY, THE AREA I GREW UP AND KNOW LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND. FORTUNATELY, MY MOM'S HOUSE IS NORTH OF THE PROPOSED ROUTE, BUT NOT BY MUCH, IT WILL BE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR HER TO SEE THE HIGHWAY FROM HER FRONT YARD. NOT THE KIND OF NEWS I'M THRILLED ABOUT.

Updates to WEATHER PAGE

I have now updated the marine weather portion of the page with links to NOAA/NWS marine forecasts, tidal information, and more forecast models which may be useful for fishing, surfing, or just lazily hanging out at the beach and having an idea how high those waves might be. Of course most of this info is rather concentrated on the central Gulf coast region including MS, AL, and NW FLA.

I've had to cut out a couple of gadgets containing graphics for not updating regularly as well. This will probably make the page a little more useful and less cluttered.

I recently added a link to FREE U.S. Lightning data called STRIKESTAR which is really nice and more comprehensive than other free sites I've found with more local links. However, not all of those links will work as you may find out as those are individual sites ran by lightning enthusiasts.

There have been some recent readjusting of the weather page to where the graphics and links are more evenly distributed through the page. Having AccuWeather, The Weather Channel and some other source at the top of the page for the area I live in is nice, but of course a little confusing since all 3 may have a slight variation of the local forecast. I don't have time to do my own forecasts on this site, and for me to do such a thing would require this site to be monetized by ads. For now, this will do and use carefully to your own discretion and of course check out the number of weather links I have set up on the right side of the page.

I have had a vision of making this web page happen, and, well this is the best I can do at this time. I like how it has come together, and hopefully can find ways to improve on it. I have received positive feedback about what I've done from some of you and I do appreciate it.

Hopefully I won't find myself throwing a bunch of ads on this site anytime soon. I know how annoying those can be and how destructive a few of those can be to my computer and yours in forms of tracking cookies, viruses, worms, and those darn galloping trojan horses. I will do my best to keep this a FREE and SAFE page. ;)
